Perhaps the best thing about this restaurant is the fact that you can't get a reservation. Vij's just doesn't take reservations. It turns out that waiting outside in the queue for your table is fun and more often than not you'll find patrons waiting patiently with Kingfisher ales in one hand and the tastiest Indian appetizers ever to cross your lips. Once you sit down in Vij's restaurant you know you are in for something special. An solid wine list accompanies the best Indian food that Vancouver has to offer. That said, this is Indian Fusion or as some say "Indian food meets the West Coast". Which for some might invite criticism of being a tad inauthentic. Who really cares though? When you create something this good it doesn't really matter what you call it. Treat yourself or someone special to an evening at Vij's. Keep your eye out for Vikram Vij himself. You could easily find him at your table explaining some of the ingredients in the Lamb Popsicles or Saag Aloo. Lots on non-vegetarian options for those ready for an adventure and please don't miss the deserts. Come with and open mind, an empty stomach, and get ready to enjoy!
